The school district wanted to maintain the rich heritage of the school and showcase its pride and history.

Creative additions converted an open campus to a closed, secure campus. The exterior was completely reclad, and the exterior courtyards were replanted and resurfaced.

A new 800-seat auditorium, lobby, stage and scene-shop areas were added to complete the fine-arts area. The existing auditorium was transformed into a band hall and black-box theater. The existing band hall was converted into an orchestra hall and choir hall. Community use of the auditorium, LGI, black-box theater and gyms are monitored by an electronic surveillance system. The auditorium finishes reflect the materials used on the exterior of the campus. Polished metal clouds help reflect ambient light and sound throughout the new auditorium.

Other areas of the campus that were renovated at the same time include two of the gymnasiums, classrooms and the dining area. A new administration, entry, science labs and a third gym were added to the campus during this construction. The modernized campus has surpassed expectations and has been embraced by the community.
