The design addresses the goals and values of this high-performing district by creating an exciting learning environment that meets the unique needs of the ethnically diverse population of its citizens. The public plaza at the intersection of these two main streets creates the focal point for the new school and provides an exciting after-hours gathering place for the public.

The radial design of the school allows for the ordered placement of each grade-level classroom building around a central quadrangle. A recessed outdoor amphitheater wraps around the library/multimedia center and allows for small-group instruction while accommodating the entire student body or a community event.
