The new facility houses 600 students from kindergarten through fifth grade. The two-story structure features an impressive entrance lobby, a state-of-the-art media center, cafeteria, gymnasium, stage, 27 classrooms, a computer lab, science room, two special-education classrooms, administrative suites and a secure entrance hallway. The facility uses a geothermal heating/cooling system to reduce operating costs.
The facility’s design incorporated several learning aspects into its features such as the learning floor, which uses floor tiles to show how colors blend together, and a dome to use for a lesson on sound waves. The hallway striping creates a natural walkway to direct children throughout the facility.
This was a multi-phased construction project.
