The West Campus Sports and Fitness Center is an 18,000-square-foot addition to a renovated 44,000-square-foot building at this urban Midwestern university.

By building the addition on top of an existing underground lap pool, the university was able to fit the project on a tight urban campus site.

The resulting structure is a visually dynamic, open facility that represents the campus master plan and enhances public open green space on this side of campus.
