The master plan for this project considered existing site conditions, proximity to existing facilities and parking, and the planned development of Building IV adjacent to this facility.
Situated on the Osceola campus of Valencia Community College, this new facility houses the information-technology and workforce-development programs. The building includes COST PER SQ FT$136.64FEATURED IN2005 Architectural Portfolio classrooms, technology laboratories, faculty offices, an office suite for nearby University of Central Florida, and The Learning Center, an interactive, multiuse computer center. The project was designed for 24-hour use and responds to security issues associated with this requirement.
All classrooms in the building are high-tech, and technology labs are arranged around a common technology corridor that is used to distribute this technology throughout the labs from floor to floor. The Learning Center supports faxed data and power connections in a raised-floor system, as well as wireless access points.
