The 40-acre master plan for Fredericksburg Academy involves a lower, middle and high school with provisions for athletic, science, health, communications and arts facilities to be shared with the local community. The master plan connects two parcels of land divided by a major arterial road. It establishes a tunnel under the road as a pedestrian connection between the COST PER SQ FT$148.00FEATURED IN2005 Architectural PortfolioSUB CATEGORYSpecialized and the athletic sides of the campus.
Phase I of this development was the design and construction of an arts and sciences facility for the upper schools. This facility is designed around a 400-seat auditorium. The goal of this project was to create an upper-school facility that offers classroom and laboratory space for chemistry, biology and physics, as well as studio space for the visual arts, music and performing arts. Later phases include an administration and humanities building, mathematics and social sciences building, and an athletic facility.
