Designers used school colors for walls, floors, classroom surfaces, furnishings and lighting choices. Interiors are bright and cheerful because of ample lighting and skylights. The building’s programmatic connection to older portions of the school, via its dining commons, also reinforces the school’s tightly knit communal nature. The wing’s location provides a natural connection to its pastoral setting.
All corridors lead to a focal two-story gathering space with a spiral staircase, the site of a science pendulum and physics experiments. This site offers sweeping views and access to playing fields, meadows, a pond and woods beyond.
