This facility is the primary dining center for the students living in Dancer, Bender and Campbell halls on the University of Northern Iowa campus.

This project replaces the current line-style dining facilities with a contemporary “marketplace” concept within the existing building.
A blend of materials and textures sets a contemporary, yet comfortable tone in this dynamic environment. The renovated dining center offers an open marketplace format on the main level, with new accessible entrances on the main ground and elevated second floor. Carryout food during the daytime and a late-evening venue also are provided on the ground floor. On the second level, students enjoy study, computer lab and lounge spaces.
Construction materials include travertine wall tile; porcelain tile flooring; ceramic tile walls; glass block; “channel” glass walls; new maple wood paneling, trim and casework; reuse of existing dark oak paneling; granite- and solid-surfacing counters; stainless-steel equipment; exposed structure; and acrylic panels at interior lightwells.
