A major addition and significant renovations have transformed this 1960s high school, bringing it into the 21st century. The soft architectural lines of the addition blend with the existing structure and offer natural lighting to penetrate the interiors. The project included a new 800-seat full-performance auditorium, a new fieldhouse and state-of-the-art science wing. The auditorium is equipped with a full-fly loft and counterweight stage rigging system, along with catwalks, theater lighting and variable acoustics. The auditorium rivals small community theaters. Along with hosting the district’s elaborate performing-arts interests, it is available for community performances. Guests can enter directly into the large vestibule area encompassing the auditorium, ticket booth and concessions. They also may elect to step into the outdoor courtyard during the intermission.
All construction took place while the school was occupied and operational.
