Prior to renovation of the Noyer Centre, predesign surveys of student groups indicated the desire for a restaurant-style food service with extensive menu selections, a la carte and all-you-can-eat meal options, and the flexibility of a convenience store. The completed design incorporates student desires through the development of three service areas: The Food Mall, ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONCOST PER SQ FT$144.90FEATURED IN1998 Educational InteriorsINTERIOR CATEGORYCafeterias/Food-Service Areas eight-station open servery; The Marketplace, an extended-hour convenience store; and the Retreat, an all-you-can-eat residence location for breakfast and dinner that doubles as a full-service, lunchtime restaurant.

Menu options abound in the Food Mall, including fresh soups and salads, homestyle entrees, burgers and fries, and fresh baked desserts. The centerpiece of the Food Mall is the International Cafe, which features regional and international cuisine display-cooking by the facility’s sous chefs. The Marketplace offers snacks, quick-fix items, beverages and made-to-order deli sandwiches.

Seating is provided for 438 patrons in the dining rooms, which are equipped with movable walls to accommodate various group sizes.
