Wetlands, ravines, waters of the U.S., and limited flat land dictated that the site determine the school’s footprint, and the interior layout adapt to satisfy the program requirements. The result: elements created from a child’s perspective, grouped spaces for shared activities, and a residential style exterior to ease the transition from home to school.

The gymnasium is centrally located with separate access for after-hours use and linked to the cafetorium for large capacity events. Media center and computer classroom connect for use by similar personnel, and music rooms are separated for sound control, but accessible to the stage. The administrative area serves as "control central" with full view of the bus loop and incoming visitors. Kindergarten is in the southern wing as established by site conditions for drop off/pick up and within close proximity to playgrounds. Computer and video systems are throughout the facility.
