The building design responds to the community’s expressed desire for a contemporary design that uses traditional and familiar building materials and forms. The brick, cast-stone trim and gable roof forms, and the integration of curved elements into the plan and elevation achieved this look.
A two-story student commons area mediates between the building’s academic spaces and the louder, larger spaces. This area, flanked by staff and administration spaces, promotes social activity and serves as an entry for after-hour community access to the media center and gymnasium.
This project was funded through a partnership of the Bethel-Tate Local School District and the Ohio School Facilities Commission.
