State funding and local tax revenues enabled this small district to build a K-12 school. The design challenge in providing one school for New Riegel was to accommodate the needs of both primary and secondary education, while providing a separate identity for each. This school is environmentally controlled to provide comforts for students and staff throughout the seasons. A media center, auditeria and gymnasium are among the shared spaces. A kindergarten room, 11 elementary classrooms, nine classrooms for grades 7 to 12, two science rooms, two business rooms, a life-skills room, a large music room, a production CADD lab and an art lab are included. Five special-education rooms with three workrooms provide adequate space for student-specific requirements. This educational complex has become a main source of pride for this rural farm community.
