The new school, situated in a rural Amish area, has become the town’s social center. Designed on a campus occupied by a high school and football stadium, the school accommodates grades 6 to 8, and is organized in academic and non-academic areas. The academic area accommodates the school’s educational programs. It features a multimedia distribution system.
The non-academic areas are grouped centrally at the front of the building to enhance accessibility and security. The cafeteria/auditorium has a large stage, scene shop, adjacent music suite, technology lab, art and home-arts area, and a high school-size gymnasium. It serves the public for numerous community functions. The building is colorful and bright, with abundant natural light. Extensive use of curtainwalls affords all classrooms with exterior views of the surrounding countryside.
