As Medina City Schools embarked upon modernization and expansion of its existing high school, the district formed partnerships with a number of community groups. Innovative agreements with the City of Medina and Medina General Hospital were instrumental in the development of the school’s 104,459-square-foot community recreational center.

The new center is bright, airy and open, with a design that features dynamic, curving shapes, light colors and ample natural light. Finishes and furnishings offer optimum flexibility and durability to support constant use. Amenities include a leisure pool; a competition pool with spectator seating for 300; a 24,000-square-foot fieldhouse; and a walking/jogging track. The facility also features physical-therapy rooms, a 6,000-square-foot fitness center, aerobics rooms, community room and classrooms, cafe, family locker rooms, a childcare room and secured outdoor play area.
