Nativity Prep is modeled on the Nativity Mission Center in New York City.
In 2002, the school moved from a rented facility in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood to an existing mill-type building at 20 Chestnut Street in Jamaica Plain. The school has since become a stabilizing presence for the neighborhood.
The relocation required a complete rehabilitation of the entire building. The resulting design provides an enhanced learning environment: classrooms, library, chapel, faculty and administrative offices, gymnasium/auditorium, health office, cafeteria/kitchen, lockers and all support facilities. The school is nearly double the size of Nativity Prep’s previous site. The scope of the exterior renovation includes building envelope rehabilitation, play space, parking site lighting and landscaping.
