The school, housing students in grades 5 to 8, will contain classrooms, gymnasium facilities, a multimedia center/production room, auditeria, computer/CADD labs, project/science labs and music/art rooms. The two-story building is divided into two “pods” per floor—each centered on a project lab, four classrooms and a faculty center, providing private space for teachers.

The site overlooks an existing pond and wetland area, allowing for student dining , and an after-hours terrace and a boardwalk through the wetlands as an outdoor learning laboratory. The existing high school is on the same campus, allowing use of the existing auditorium and band rooms by the middle school students.
