The UAW/Ford/MnSCU Training Center is the result of a unique collaboration between the UAW/Ford Motor Company, the Minnesota State College and Universities System, and the State of Minnesota Department of Administration. The facility includes interactive, computer-based, software and satellite learning; apprenticeable industrial-trades training; and a fully functional robot cell with peripherals to simulate automation systems; programming; and real-life troubleshooting environments that are hands-on learning labs and shops. Building spaces include an auditorium, the UAW-Ford Skills Enhancement Center, robot demonstration lab, electronics lab, three computer labs, three technical training labs, a machine shop, woodworking shop, auto diagnostic bay, paint repair bay, eight classrooms, a student lounge and offices.
The project is a model of a high-technology training facility.
