The design of this two-story university student recreation center reflects the agrarian origins and influences of the Irvine Ranch on which the campus is located.

Immediately upon entering the lobby, vistors are aware of the facility’s spatial organization.The exposed structure, ductwork and lighting that shape the lobby and gymnasiums reinforce the design. The facilities program includes: a multisport three-court gymnasium with a perimeter second-floor jogging track; a special curved corner gymnasium; recessed goals and team dugouts for indoor soccer and floor hockey, as well as the typical multisport gymnasium uses; three regulation racquetball courts; three multipurpose activity studios; strength training and cardiovascular fitness areas; locker rooms and showers; equipment checkout; and laundry facilities.
